Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court

(This is rather interesting....I just heard of it the other day.  This document regarding the "Rome Statute" that originated the ICC was ratified back on 2003.  Being the 'Rome' statute, (it originated in Rome also), may connect to what some prophecy teachers call the Revived Roman Empire)

In light of the establishment of the Permanent Secretariat of the Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute (by resolution ICC-ASP/2/Res.3, adopted at the second session of the Assembly on 12 September 2003), the United Nations Secretariat will cease to serve as the Secretariat of the Assembly on 31 December 2003. This web site, therefore, only reflects developments up until that date. Information on subsequent activities should be obtained from the web site of the International Criminal Court itself

The coming political battle over Bitcoin

Given that Bitcoin first broke into mainstream attention when Gawker explained how to use it to buy drugs, perhaps the surprise is that it took federal regulators this long to take action against it.

In the wake of the Gawker story two years ago, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) described Bitcoin as an “online form of money laundering” and called for the authorities to shutter the Bitcoin-based drug market Silk Road. Yet until recently, the feds have taken a relatively hands-off posture. Agencies have issued guidelines and signaled that they are monitoring the situation, but none have taken active steps to force Bitcoin intermediaries to comply with federal regulations.

That hands-off stance may have started to change this week when the feds took action against Mt. Gox, the world’s leading Bitcoin exchange. Many people use Dwolla, a PayPal-like payment network, to send dollars to their Mt. Gox accounts. They then use those dollars to buy Bitcoins. On Tuesday, Dwolla announced that it had frozen Mt. Gox’s account at the request of federal investigators. It’s the first federal action against the currency.

France: Priest Attacked by Muslim, Monsignor Denounces Muslims Taking Control of District - Atlas Shrugs

First they came for the Jews, France dismissed it as "because of the Middle East." Then they came for the gays; France dismissed it as "isolated incidents." Now they are attacking symbols of Christianity, vandalizing churches, disrupting services and finally attacking priests.

And yet France keeps importing these supremacist kilers.

Quatar Rising

Bernard Haykel, Professor of Near East Studies at Princeton University, rejects the idea that Qatar is trying to install Islamic governments around the world. “I believe that its policy, which is driven almost exclusively by its emir, the leader of Qatar, is to basically make Qatar valuable in the region by having a key role as mediator, as a sponsor, as a patron for different political forces, especially the Muslim Brotherhood, a movement that it has been cultivating since the 1950s,” he said.

“I think it's just doing it out of what it sees as its pragmatic national self-interest, which is just to have very strong connections with powerful and dominant political forces throughout the region and then, through them, seem even more important to the outside world,” he added.
The question of Qatar’s support of Islamists in Libya and Syria still needs to be answered, though. Stanford University’s Khatib believes Qatar is motivated by the need to protect itself.

“Qatar perceives groups like the Muslim Brotherhood as allies and wants to maintain influencing those allies,” she said. “Aid is a way to maintain a degree of power over those groups. At the same time, when it comes to other Islamist groups that are of a more, let’s say, non-moderate leaning, Qatar’s support of those groups—again, it’s not because it wants to promote them as much as it is interested in controlling them and keeping the danger away from its own borders.”

Vermont close to becoming 4th state to allow doctors to help patients die - U.S. News

Vermont is poised to become the fourth state to allow doctors to help terminally ill patients die.
A bill approved Monday night by the state House would allow doctors to prescribe lethal doses of medication. The Senate has already approved the bill. It goes to Gov. Peter Shumlin, a strong supporter.
Vermont would join Oregon, Washington and Montana. Oregon and Washington passed similar laws by popular vote, and a court order Montana made it legal there. Vermont would be the first to pass such a law through its legislature.

United Nations News Centre - In ‘time of tension,’ role of Alliance of Civilizations must be enhanced, says Ban

(This group:  "The Alliance of Civilization", I have tracked for several years now.  It is a big tool in forming the One World Government.  They concentrate a lot on the children and youth also)

13 May 2013 – In an increasingly interdependent world with diverse cultures exposed to each other more than ever before, the United Nations-backed initiative seeking to enhance cross-cultural relations must be improved to reflect the international community’s changing dynamics, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon declared today.

Speaking at a meeting of the Group of Friends of the Alliance of Civilizations, held at UN Headquarters in New York, the Secretary-General underscored the importance of the six-year old intercultural Alliance amid a fast-changing global backdrop of demographic changes and technological advancements.
“At a time of tension, mistrust, and violence between communities, we knew that we needed a forum for listening: listening to the concerns, hopes and aspirations of people on all sides, and then, galvanizing them to work together on shared challenges,” Mr. Ban told the gathered delegates.

He added that the creation of the Alliance in 2005 through the initiative of Spain and Turkey, and under UN auspices, established a much-needed forum where civil society, governments and the private sector could learn from each other and “stand up for tolerance and inclusivity and against extremism and polarization.”

“We have created a globally recognized initiative that now attracts thousands to its annual meetings, engages millions around the world through its social media campaigns, and directly benefits young people by empowering them through youth-led projects,” he continued.

OVER 100 HOLOCAUST SCHOLARS URGE OBAMA: CANCEL INVITE TO SUDAN DELEGATION

The Islamic North slaughtered two million black Christians and animists. Why would Obama be meeting with these war criminals? Will they be forced to go in the back door like Obama subjected Netanyahu to?
This is from The David S. Wyman Institute for Holocaust Studies.

Washington, D.C. - One hundred and seven leading Holocaust and genocide scholars from around the world have sent a letter of protest to President Obama, urging him to cancel a planned visit to the United States by Sudanese leaders involved in the Darfur genocide.

The delegation will represent Sudanese president Omar Hassan al-Bashir, who has been indicted by the International Criminal Court for his role in the Darfur genocide. Heading the delegation will be Bashir adviser Nafie Ali Nafie, a prominent participant in the mass killings.

The letter of protest was organized by The David S. Wyman Institute for Holocaust Studies, based in Washington, D.C. It is the latest in a series of Wyman Institute initiatives seeking U.S. action to stop the Darfur atrocities and bring Bashir to justice.

"We must make it clear to the perpetrators of genocide that the United States will treat them as outlaws and bring them to justice, not treat them as respected statesmen and bring them here for friendly visits," the letter of protest argues.

Checkmate: From global makeover to takeover

 (Preparing for Armageddon)
We’re rapidly approaching a potential checkmate moment in the Mideast. There are 41 nations plus the U.S., for a total of 42 nations currently participating in military maneuvers off the coast of Iran. Despite all of the saber rattling about Iran, we are being deceived about the coming global battle, which will almost certainly begin in Syria, not Iran.

United States of Europe

 United States of Europe

This article first appeared in the April 10, 1989 print edition of The New American, providing seminal research that exposed the hidden agenda behind the developing European Economic Community. Not only did Mr. Jasper present crucially important information that was almost completely unknown at that time, even to generally well-informed Americans and Europeans, concerning the individuals and organizations pushing for European "integration," but he also accurately "projected the lines" — decades ahead of other analysts — presciently sounding the warning that false appeals to free market rhetoric were masking a plan for socialism and the destruction of personal liberty and national independence for the nations of Europe. With the White House and Congress now considering action on legislation for a Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), to further entangle the United States with the European Union, this article from 24 years ago is more relevant than ever. — The Editor

Bible Publisher Scores Major Victory Against Contraception Mandate

Bible Publisher Scores Major Victory Against Contraception Mandate

A prominent Bible publisher has won a significant victory in the ongoing battle by employers against President Obama's notorious contraception mandate, which requires businesses and non-church organizations to provide free contraception — including abortion-causing drugs — to their workers. The conservative legal advocacy group Alliance Defending Freedom reported May 6 that at the request of the Department of Justice, a federal appellate court has dismissed an Obama administration appeal of an order that had halted enforcement of the mandate against Tyndale House Bible publishers. The retreat by the administration marks the first complete appellate victory on a preliminary injunction in any of the cases against the mandate.

Tyndale, based in Carol Stream, Illinois, is the world's largest privately held publisher of Bibles and Christian books, and funnels over 95 percent of its profits to religious non-profit groups and causes around the world. The company filed suit to stop enforcement of the mandate last October, specifically objecting to being forced to provide “morning after” contraceptives that can also act as abortifacients, such as drugs marketed under the brand names “ella” and “Plan B.” Shockingly, the Obama administration's Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), which administers the mandate, ruled that Tyndale was not a sufficiently religious entity to qualify for the exemption bestowed upon churches and a select few non-profits.

Catholics get hundreds of new saints with pope's first canonization ceremony at Vatican | Fox News

(The Islamic war against Christians is not a recent event)

Pope Francis on Sunday gave the Catholic church new saints, including hundreds of 15th-century martyrs who were beheaded for refusing to convert to Islam, as he led his first canonization ceremony Sunday before tens of thousands of people in St. Peter's Square.

The `'Martyrs of Otranto" are 813 Italians who were slain in the southern Italian city in 1480 for defying demands by Turkish invaders to renounce Christianity.

Ken Livingstone’s favourite Islamist spreads Jew-hatred in Gaza – Telegraph Blogs

 (Foreshadows of Armageddon)

Our whole ambition is to die on the path to Allah… I am sure we will conquer” said Ken Livingstone’s favourite Muslim cleric, Sheikh Yusuf Qaradawi, as he touched down in Gaza on Wednesday for a three day solidarity visit. Before he left on Friday he told a Muslim Brotherhood rally that Israel had no right to exist. The rally was the scene of mass chanting of "liberate Palestine … from the sons of monkeys and pigs".

If all that was depressingly predictable, less so, was the range of voices opposed to Qaradawi's cult of death.

Yes, Israel, of course. After all, Qaradawi’s Jew-hatred is undiluted and canonical. Listen to him (from Fatawa on Palestine):
We believe that the battle between us and the Jews is coming … Such a battle is not driven by nationalistic causes or patriotic belonging; it is rather driven by religious incentives. This battle is not going to happen between Arabs and Zionists, or between Jews and Palestinians, or between Jews or anybody else. It is between Muslims and Jews as is clearly stated in the hadith. This battle will occur between the collective body of Muslims and the collective body of Jews i.e. all Muslims and all Jews. (p. 77)
Qaradawi does not deny the Holocaust, he celebrates it.
Throughout history, Allah has imposed upon the [Jews] people who would punish them for their corruption. The last punishment was carried out by Hitler. By means of all the things he did to them – even though they exaggerated this issue – he managed to put them in their place. This was divine punishment for them. Allah willing, the next time will be at the hand of the believers.
No camouflaging anti-Semitism as “anti-Zionism” there!

Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is to hold talks on Tuesday with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the conflict in Syria, the Kremlin said, amid concerns Moscow plans to deliver advanced missiles to the Damascus regime.

"During the meeting an exchange of opinion is planned on key aspects of bilateral ties," the Kremlin said in a statement, according to the AFP news agency.
"It is expected that major attention will be paid to the current situation in the Middle East, first and foremost in Syria," the statement said.

It noted the talks would take place in Russia, without giving further details.

Oppose the E-Verify National ID System

E-Verify is "an Internet-based system operated by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) in partnership with the Social Security Administration (SSA). E-Verify is currently free to employers and is available in all 50 states. E-Verify provides an automated link to federal databases to help employers determine employment eligibility of new hires and the validity of their Social Security numbers."

Mandatory E-Verify: A Giant Plunge Into a National ID System | American Civil Liberties Union

(Very seldom is there an intersection where Bible Prophecy and this ungodly organization meet, but this is one of them, they don't want the 'mark' either)

Today's release of an immigration reform proposal from the Gang of Eight raises a host of civil liberties issues, many of which the ACLU will undoubtedly be commenting on in the coming days and weeks.

Today, I'm focusing on our concerns with one particular program, E-Verify. Currently, E-Verify is a largely voluntary system where employers can check with the Department of Homeland Security to see if someone is allowed to work. Basically it's a giant list of everyone – immigrants and citizens – legally in the United States.

International Law and the New World Order: Redefining Sovereignty

Some analysts complain that international law (IL) has been coopted and even ‘weaponized’ by state and private actors. Whether IL inexorably leads to Lawfare or not, Thomas McShane reminds us that it now competes with state sovereignty as THE organizing principal behind international relations.
