"I was a stupid and politically disinterested nobody from a simple background,"

The above statement by Brunhilde Pomsel, Joseph Goebbels secretary, regarding her ignorance of his activities, is a warning to those today who show no interest in the
political affairs of the world.  The Book of Revelation may be inevitable, but in the time leading up to the fulfillment of its events, we, the Body of Christ, are responsible for being 'salt' for preserving 'peace on earth, goodwill toward men'.  Those elected to political office have much to do with this.  Paul realized the importance of 'keeping abreast of the facts' politically, when he admonished us to pray for kings and those in authority, that 'we might lead a quiet and peaceable life'.

We are seeing the changing in our country as the result of the 2008 election, and now in a year we are coming upon another very important election.  I would encourage all believers not to be like Miss Pomsel, 'politically disinterested and ignorant'.  Your future depends on it, and also the freedom to spread the Gospel.
