The State Department’s Jerusalem syndrome
I went to the US Consulate this week to take care of certain family business. It was a thoroughly unpleasant experience. I think it is ironic that two days after my extremely unpleasant experience at the consulate, State Department Spokeswoman Victoria Nuland refused to say what the capital of Israel is. It was ironic because anyone who visits the consulate knows that the US’s position on Jerusalem is in perfect alignment with that of Israel’s worst enemies.
Last time I went to the consulate was in 2007. At that time the building was located in the middle of an Arab neighborhood in eastern Jerusalem. It was unpleasant. In fact, it was fairly frightening. Once inside the building I couldn’t shake the feeling that the Americans had gone out of their way to make Israeli-American Jews feel uncomfortable and vaguely threatened.

(CNSNews.com) – House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said Tuesday that “the American people should be very afraid” after hearing President Barack Obama’s accidentally recorded remarks to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Monday that after the election he would have more “flexibility” in dealing with the Russians.
"I judge that in fact he’s going to sell out our national defense after the election," said Issa.

Senators Fight to Stop EPA’s Takeover of All Water
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senators John Barrasso (R-WY), Jim Inhofe (R-OK), Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, Jeff Sessions (R-AL), Dean Heller (R-NV) and 26 other Senators introduced legislation to stop the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from taking over all private water in the United States. The “Preserve the Waters of the U.S. Act” prevents the EPA and the Army Corp of Engineers (Corps) from using their overreaching “guidance” to change legal responsibilities under the Clean Water Act (CWA).

ObamaCare: Unexpected criticism from U.S. Supreme Court threatens health care overhaul - thestar.com
WASHINGTON—The future of President Barack Obama’s signature health care overhaul was thrown into deep doubt Tuesday as a divided U.S. Supreme Court raked the constitutionality of the law in crucial Washington hearings.
Already an explosive election-year issue, the Affordable Care Act, dubbed “ObamaCare” by its detractors, was long expected to come under fire from conservative-leaning justices on the nine-member high court.
But few seemed prepared for the intensity of criticism Tuesday, with a majority of the court — including Justice Anthony Kennedy, who holds what is widely seen as a crucial swing vote — expressing concern the law fundamentally alters the relationship between Americans and their government.

National Marriage Group Launches Starbucks Boycott
America’s premier purveyor of overpriced coffee has become the target of a boycott launched by the National Organization for Marriage (NOM), a nationwide group battling for traditional marriage. On March 21 the group announced the launch of DumpStarbucks.com, a website encouraging individuals to stop purchasing their daily latte or French roast brew at their local Starbucks because the Seattle-based company has made an official endorsement of same-sex marriage. The website also invites individuals to add their names to a petition sent to Starbucks, voice their concern to their local Starbucks, find local alternatives to the coffee shop, and inform friends about the boycott through Facebook and Twitter.
