Children can’t think if they don’t learn facts - Telegraph

The academics who criticised rote learning are wrong – it is at the heart of all knowledge

Without spellings, facts and rules, you aren’t educated. Instead, you’re left floundering in a knowledge-free vacuum, barely comforted by the progressive lie that ignorance somehow magically generates thought.

The Magdeburg Confession (The Lesser Magistrate Doctrine)

The Lesser Magistrate Doctrine states that when a higher or superior authority creates unjust or immoral laws, the lesser ranking civil authority has both the right and the duty before God to not only not obey but to actively resist such unjust laws.
Hear Matt Trewhella and Vic Eliason analyze the historic roots and the possible contemporary applications of this little known doctrine.

Newspapers warned they will face threat of full-blown state regulation if they do not accept royal charter - Telegraph

 john whittingdale

John Whittingdale, the Conservative chairman of the culture, media and sport select committee, said state licensing would have to be considered if the Government’s proposal for a new watchdog is rejected by the media industry.
Mr Whittingdale is vehemently opposed to state regulation of the Press, and has criticised Parliament’s plans for statutory underpinning of a new regulator.
But he said that nearly a week after the Government published a draft royal charter suggesting how a new system should work, “hardly any newspapers seem prepared to sign up”.

More than 120 hurt as Egypt activists, Islamists clash | Inquirer News

CAIRO—Opposition protesters clashed with Islamists near the headquarters of Egypt’s ruling Muslim Brotherhood in the capital on Friday, injuring more than 120 people, state news agency MENA reported.

The violence erupted after activists marched to the building guarded by police and Brotherhood members. More than 120 people were hurt as the two sides pelted each other with stones, emergency services chief Mohammed Soltan told MENA.
Shots were heard as hundreds of opposition activists and the Islamists battled on the streets of the Mokattam neighborhood where the headquarters are situated, but there were no immediate reports of gunshot casualties.

Bill against Shariah law in courts passes panel | News - Home

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — After it failed last year, lawmakers on Thursday revived a bill that would ban Shariah, or Islamic, law and other foreign laws from Florida courts.
Republican Sen. Alan Hays, who sponsored the bill, said his measure was a "preemptive gesture." There are no reported cases in which a Florida court applied foreign law.
His bill is aimed at divorce and child custody cases and does not mention Shariah, or Islamic law, specifically. The Senate's Governmental Oversight and Accountability committee cleared the bill (SB 58) by a party-line vote of 6-3.
A bill last year passed the House but never was called for a vote before the Senate.

Hays' "motives and intentions are good, but it's a bad idea," said Sen. Chris Smith, a Fort Lauderdale Democrat. "It's just not needed ... It's not going to become an issue because we have a great legal system. And it could open us up to more litigation."

The Florida Bar's Family Law section opposed the measure, saying it would create confusion and uncertainty.

Several Muslims also spoke against the bill, including Moazzam Adnan Raja, a marketing director from Longwood. Raja soon choked up and cried.
"Show some compassion, show us love," he told senators. "We don't want to be called second-class citizens. We want to be accepted."

Saif Hamideh, a Florida State political science major whose family is from Jordan, worried about unintended consequences from such a law. He said he one day hoped to get married in Jordan, and was fearful his marriage might not be recognized in Florida.

Corey Saylor, legislative director for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said six states have laws similar to Hays' bill: Arizona, South Dakota, Kansas, Louisiana, Tennessee and Oklahoma. His group sued in Oklahoma and that law was suspended.

Erdogan says Israeli apology shows Turkey's new clout | Reuters

An honour guard (R) stands at attention as Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan leaves after his meeting with Dutch Queen Beatrix at royal palace Huis ten Bosch in The Hague March 21, 2013. REUTERS/Peter Dejong/Pool

(A couple years ago when I was enrolled in Koinonia House Institute, a lady did a presentation on this man/Turkey.  She was stressing his importance in the end time scenario.  I have watched him ever since and I must say, I see her point.  Also, Walid Shoebat, a converted terrorist, has been teaching about the place of Turkey in the end time picture also.  Google his name or Youtube for more of his teaching along these lines-AW)

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a phone call on Friday, agreed to meet Turkey's three conditions for normalizing relations, Erdogan said.
These were a clear apology, compensation to the victims' families and a relaxation of the blockade against Gaza, Erdogan told a rally broadcast live from the western town of Eskisehir.
Israel bowed to a demand by Ankara to apologize formally for the deaths nearly three years ago aboard the Mavi Marmara, a Turkish vessel carrying humanitarian aid and challenging Israel's naval blockade of the Palestinian-run Gaza Strip. (on addn'l note:  I got a tweet in that said Netenyahu called Erdogan from the airport while waiting with Obama as Obama was preparing to leave Israel, not sure about that but if it is true, I'm sure Obama initiated this entire situation)

"Adventures in God" by John G. Lake

During my ministry in South Africa, I came across a bachelor who hated everything that was Christian.  He had a reputation for cussing preachers off his place.  One day I realized that he had not been seen for awhile, so I decided to pay him a visit.  Immediately, I was warned as to what kind of a reception I could expect.  I went anyway.

Upon entering his home, I observed that he was a very sick man.  Before he could say a thing, I tossed my hat down, prayed that God would heal him, and left.

A few days later he came to church.  He was a changed man.

"God In Man's Mind" by John G. Lake

When we become the habitation of God, and God lives in the mind, God lives in the brain, what will be the result? What will we do and what will we say or think? What will be the tenderness of our emotions, of our soul, and what will be the depth of our feeling? What will be the growth of our capacity to love?

A Christian should live in the realm of the supernatural....

"Time Travelers of the Bible.....

...how the Hebrew prophets shattered the barriers of time-space", by Gary Stearman. Today I will be sharing a 'goodie' for my prophetic/scientifically minded friends....and those who aren't so inclined to 'salt your oats' to awaken some interest in this area.  How exciting to see God manifesting Himself through prophecy and through science.

This is an interview from a Prophecy In The News conference in Branson this past summer.  WOW is all I can personally say regarding this.

Rodney Howard-Browne comments on the Christian world reaction to the new Pope

Rodney & Adonica Howard-Browne - Tampa, FL

I am amazed at how many leaders are scrambling to endorse the new pope, while he may be a good pope we should give him time to see the fruit of his life. We should wait to see what he implements. However this does not sanction the whole practice of Catholicism worldwide - yes there are many saved and Spirit Filled Catholics in the charismatic catholic movement however in many nations in Africa and some South American Countries its corrupt, mingled in with ancestral worship & witchcraft - remember a tree is known by its fruits - for evangelicals to jump to embrace is a mistake that could come around to bite them. I am sorry that I have to come out with this statement - I don't want to rain on anyone's parade however Rev 17 & 18 makes it plain - we are moving to a one world government, currency, religion etc we cannot try to make John 17 come to pass by human effort - only the Spirit of God can accomplish this.

Federal Judge Overturns Missouri Law Nullifying Contraception Mandate

(The heart of this matter:  State sovereignty)

Fleissig’s opinion, which is shared by the majority of judges and legal scholars, seems to be that any federal law trumps any conflicting state law. But the supremacy clause is more nuanced than that. “That clause says that laws made by the United States ‘in pursuance’ of the Constitution are the supreme law of the land which means that acts not in ‘pursuance’ of the Constitution are not laws at all,” as Emory University professor Dr. Donald Livingston explained to the South Carolina House Judiciary Subcommittee in February.

Now Fleissig and others might argue that since the Supreme Court has declared ObamaCare constitutional, the matter is therefore decided, and states must simply accede to the wishes of the federal government. Livingston disagrees:
But who is to decide whether an act is or is not in “pursuance” of the Constitution? Some would say the Supreme Court. The Court may, indeed, express an opinion, but it cannot have the final say. That can only be vested in the supreme authority that ratified the Constitution and gave it the force of law, namely the people of the several states….

Only the states themselves have the final say over what their … powers are. And Madison said that if the central government should intrude into the state’s [sic] reserved powers, the states would have a “duty” to “interpose” and protect their citizens from harm.

Orthodox Activists Storm Darwin Museum

Orthodox activists have stormed Moscow's Darwin Museum, tossing leaflets with creationist slogans into the lobby and planting a "God Created the World!" flag on the roof.

The event, organized by the God's Will movement, was held on Sunday to mark the passing of 7,522 years since the creation of the world. According to the group's official website, the movement seeks "to fulfill the commandments of Christ through civil activism."

One participant, Dmitry Tsorionov, said of the event on Twitter: "Checkmate, atheists! 7,522 summers from the creation of the world, creationists have seized the Darwin Museum!"

In a video posted on YouTube, activists can be seen in large groups singing hymns, wearing T-shirts denouncing the theory of evolution and proclaiming creationism, and throwing papers with religious slogans into the lobby — one of which read, "God created cats."

Meet Obama’s Pick for Labor Secretary: ‘A Radical’s Radical’, Says Former DOJ Attorney | Video | TheBlaze.com

President Obama Nominates Thomas Perez for Labor Secretary

WASHINGTON (TheBlaze/AP) — President Barack Obama gave a glowing rollout Monday to Thomas Perez, his choice to lead the Labor Department after an aggressive stint as the nation’s chief civil rights enforcer. But the nomination quickly ran into trouble as a Republican senator declared he would block the nomination until GOP concerns about Perez’s Justice Department tenure are addressed.

Further, former DOJ attorney J. Christian Adams alleged that Perez a “radical’s radical” in an interview on Mark Levin’s radio show.

“This is a man for whom law is a nuisance … this is a man who is advancing a radical agenda by using his power in the Obama administration,” Adams told Levin.
