Toyota preparing for North American shutdown ....
Toyota Motor Corp. (TM-N is warning it will probably shut down its North American assembly plants later this month amid a shortage of parts from Japan, as the economic aftershocks of the crisis gripping that country threaten to disrupt the North American recovery.
While it's unclear how long the closings could last, North America's economy can ill afford another hit to manufacturing at this point in the economic recovery.

The Trumpet Judgments: "Radiation in Japan Seas: Risk of Animal Death, Mutation?"
An article by the title above appeared in the National Geographic Daily News on April 1st. Since then I have heard several reports of the Japanese releasing radioactive water from its damaged nuclear plants into the ocean.
I couldn't help but think of the Second & Third Trumpet Judgments, (Rev. 8:8-11). Thee verses speak of a 'great mountain burning with fire cast into the sea, and a third part of the sea became blood and a third part of the creatures that had life died'. Also of a great star called "Wormwood" that fell upon the third part of the rivers and fountains of water and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
I wonder what the effect of this radioactive water will be? How many sea creatures may died as a result?
When we had the oil spill in the Gulf this past year, the sea cleaned itself of the disaster. Does it have the same capabilities to deal with radioactive materials? Only time will tell the outcome of this one.
I just find this an interesting addition to the list of possibilities at how the sea will be poisoned during the Tribulation Period. I hadn't thought of radiation poisoning before, but that would certainly make the waters what could be called, 'bitter'.

TORONTO — A bid led by Nasdaq to break up the planned marriage of the New York Stock Exchange and Deutsche Boerse shook up the stock exchange world Friday, potentially changing which major player will be left without a dance partner in the consolidation wave sweeping the industry.
The US$11.3-billion cash-and-stock offer for NYSE Euronext by Nasdaq and IntercontinentalExchange represents a 19% premium to the friendly bid from Germany-based Deutsche Boerse.

Despite its late arrival, “Judeo-Christian” is an accurate term. It’s accurate in church on Sunday. It’s an accurate description of the tradition of the West’s great religion. JPII properly told Catholics that the Jews are their older brothers. In other words, it is not some baseless invention. It reflects and describes the actual tradition.
“Multiculturalism” is an attempt to bring “class action” grievances in a pluralistic society, i.e., complaints against the American tradition of universal values, in order to carve separate cultural identities, with special advantages, in the name of inclusion. Hall of mirrors stuff meant to extend class warfare on a horizontal axis.
“Cultural Marxism,” while it can be defined more broadly, can be nutshelled as a reference to certain concepts of the Italian Marxist Antonio Gramsci. Gramsci focused on why Marxist revolution had not swept through the proletariat of Western societies according to the dictates of class struggle.
His observation was that the cultural, as opposed to the economic, institutions of those societies maintained hegemony over the class interests of the workers. Church, family, schools, universities, etc. served to divert the energies of underlying class struggle and kept workers in conformity with capitalist or bourgeois norms (“false consciousness”).
His answer was that those cultural institutions needed to be undermined and turned to the interests of the revolution. He called that process “cultural counter-hegemony.”
That is a succint description of the meaning of “cultural Marxism.” That can be broadened to include the “critical theory” of the (Neo-)Marxist Frankfurt School.
And then down in the trenches of everyday life we see all the various elements of the “culture war,” which is essentially the face-off between the Marxist re-orientation of values and traditional/bourgeois culture.

Their modus operandi, in achieving the ultimate communist state in this country, is to use the public coffers to perpetuate the "general welfare" of the people; their focus is social programs such as welfare, socialized medicine – in general, taking from those who work and providing social programs for those who don't, thus buying their vote.
There are the fascists. This group, like Bush, is largely comprised of people who believe in the fundamental principles of fascism as it differs from communism: wealth is held by large (mega) corporations and banks who influence how the government is run, in the common good. In the United States, this group largely comprises those calling themselves Republicans. Their modus operandi, in achieving the ultimate fascist state in this country, is to ensure the wealth, continued growth, and influence of big business, such that those businesses have the means necessary to influence government policy in the common good.
Communists and fascists are two heads of a three-headed Marxist snake, advocating "democracy" – rule by the majority with the rights of the minority at the whim of the majority; in other words, rule according to the passions, opinions and prejudices of those in power.
As Americans are learning the hard way, and in the words of James Madison, in Federalist Paper #10,
The third group are freedom-loving Americans who understand the foundations, the history, and the purpose of the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights, establishing a limited form of government, based on the Biblical principles of self-governance; where all men are created equal in the eyes of God; where all rights are God-given; where man's right to freedom is in exact proportion to his willingness to put chains upon those human proclivities – defined in the Ten Commandments – that are detrimental to the establishment and maintenance of a cohesive civilized society. This group understands that the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights established rule of law and what that means in the larger context.

However, we did, and when my husband asked the payroll department at his company what caused the difference, all they could tell him was the tax rates were different. Of course I immediately wondered what was done, but could find no answers. Then my husband came across a small article in our local paper taken from the Wall Street Journal that told about the social security rate cuts for 2011.

This will be the first year that federal aid will become the largest individual component of state budgets, expanding Washington control over more of the decisions at that level, according to a report by an educational and research organization.
Already 27 states rely on federal aid as their primary source of funding, but the report by the Wyoming Liberty Group describes this year's level as a critical breaking point.
"It sends a profound message," says Wyoming Liberty Group research fellow Sven Larson, the author of the report. "There is a growing consensus among the states that dependency on the federal government is tolerable, even desirable."

In Kenneth Teitelbaum’s Schooling for “Good Rebels”: Socialist Education for Children in the United States, 1900-1920, he describes the formation of 1000 “Socialist Sunday Schools” (SSS) in 64 cities in the U.S. between 1900 and 1920. These SSS included children from 5 to 14 years of age, and usually met for about two hours on Sunday mornings.
The purpose of the SSS was “to contest more directly the overly individualistic, competitive, nationalistic, militaristic… themes prevalent in contemporary public schools and other social institutions,” and help in “supplanting capitalist social and economic relations with a more equitable and cooperative form,” namely Socialism. Interestingly, in the latter part of the 20th century, Outcome-Based Education (OBE) would emphasize the group over the individual, cooperative learning over competition, global perspectives increasingly and nationalism less, peacekeeping over militarism, and equity over superiority.
The strategy of the SSS followed that of revolutionary Antonio Gramsci, in that hegemony would be attained via the people’s consent rather than by force. The people would gradually adopt Socialism voluntarily via a “process” (like OBE), and the result would be a “Cooperative Commonwealth.” The SSS were allied with the Intercollegiate Socialist Society (ISS), which would be renamed the League for Industrial Democracy in 1921 and have “progressive” educator John Dewey as its president in 1940-41 (OBE is based on “progressive education” principles).
The ISS in the U.S. was related to the Fabian Socialists of Britain, and British influence upon the ISS was significant. The Fabians’ motto was “Educate, Agitate, Organize,” and these were the same principles followed by American radical Saul Alinsky, who is admired by Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama. Shortly after Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals (with an acknowledgment to Lucifer at the front) was published, Ronald and Mary Havelock’s Training for Change Agents was published in 1973 with portions developed under a federal Office of Education contract. In this latter book is described the activities of “The Advocator-Organizer-Agitator” and the “Social Architect” change agents. And in the Spring of 1974, the federal Office of Education gave a grant of $5.9 million for 500 “change agents” to be trained at 21 institutions of higher education around the U.S.

A month before swarms of violent Afghans beheaded United Nations workers in the name of Islam, President Obama's top envoy to the Muslim world promoted Islam in a visit to Afghanistan, arguing it was one of the "strongest tools" against such violence.
In February, Rashad Hussain, U.S. special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference, gave a talk in the Afghan capital of Kabul in which he called on locals to recommit themselves to their religion:
"I am of the opinion that one of the strongest tools that you can use to counter radicalization and violent extremism is Islam itself, because Islam rejects violent extremism," Hussain told the gathering of Afghans, according to a transcript obtained by WND from the U.S. Embassy in Kabul.
