"Faith in America" by The Heritage Foundation
“The God who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time,” Thomas Jefferson once wrote. “The hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them.” Among the American Founders, there was a profound sense that faith and freedom were deeply intertwined.
Nowadays, we are often told that religion is divisive and ought to kept away from politics for the sake of liberty. Religion somehow is opposed to liberty, and so liberty requires a diminution of religion in the public square.
The view long consistent with our historical practice, though, is that of America’s Founders, who advanced religious liberty so as to strengthen religious faith and its influence on American self-government. All had a natural right to worship God as they chose, according to the dictates of their consciences. At the same time, the Founders upheld religion and morality–to paraphrase Washington’s Farewell Address–as indispensable supports of good habits, the firmest props of the duties of citizens, and the great pillars of human happiness.
The U.S. Dept. of Defense's war on religion, Part 2
In Part 1, I documented more than 12 ways in just the past six months that the White House and U.S. Department of Defense is trampling on the religious liberties of America's finest military servicemen and women. (If you haven't, please read Part 1 before proceeding with Part 2).
I am very disappointed by the dissolution of religious liberties in the U.S. military. Times have sadly and radically changed since my father served in World War II, since I served four years in the Air Force, and since my two brothers, Wieland and Aaron, served in the Army in Vietnam. (My brother, Wieland, paid the ultimate price there in the line of duty.)

US units exiting Iraq deployed in Jordan to forestall Syrian attack
As the US completes its final withdrawal from Iraq, American special forces troops have been diverted to positions in Jordan opposite a Syrian tank concentration building up across the kingdom's northern border, debkafile's military and intelligence sources report.
As of last Thursday, military convoys, air transports and helicopters have been lifting US troops across the border from Iraq. They have been deployed in position to ward off a possible Syrian invasion in the light of President Bashar Assad's warning that he would set the entire Middle East on fire if the pressure on his regime to step down persisted.
Syria's other neighbors have taken precautions against this contingency but this is the first time US boots have hit the ground directly opposite Assad's army.

Special Report: Tea Party grassroots army readies for battle
"The Tea Party movement is more organized, more focused and more potent," said Rep. Scott, who talks regularly to Dugan. "What happened in 2010 was not the end. It was just the beginning."
Tea Party supporters now hold fewer sign-waving rallies, a hallmark of their early opposition to bank bailouts and President Barack Obama's healthcare reform in 2009. But the movement isn't losing steam.
Interviews with activists across 20 U.S. states indicate that Tea Party groups, far from fading, have evolved into an increasingly sophisticated and effective network of activists. They are working to unseat establishment Republicans who they believe have betrayed the principles of lower taxes, limited government, and free markets.
"Those who think the Tea Party is on the wane are in for a gigantic surprise in 2012," says Debbie Dooley, co-organizer of the Atlanta Tea Party. "We have built a grassroots army and we will be a fine-tuned machine next year."
The goal of these loosely affiliated but fiercely independent groups nationwide is to hone their electoral skills and build a "farm team" of public officials who can ascend through the ranks of government. It's a long-term strategy that looks past the 2012 election to a takeover of the Republican Party and the U.S. Congress.
Islamic Woman to Launch French Presidential Bid in Opposition to Face Veil Ban
PARIS (The Blaze/AP) — To Muslim women who wish to remain hidden behind face veils, France’s law forbidding they wear the religious garment is considered an attack on their freedoms. These women have been protesting the regulation since it was put into place back in April.
One Frenchwoman — who wears an Islamic face veil in protest — is turning heads, as she announced Thursday that she wants to run for president in next year’s elections.
Also Thursday, a French court fined two women who have refused to remove their veils. All three women are part of a growing attack on the law that has banned the garments from the streets of France since April and prompted similar moves toward a ban in other European countries.
They are bent on proving that the measure contravenes fundamental rights and that women who hide their faces stand for freedom, not submission.
Canada Bans Islamic Burqas & Niqabs During Citizenship Oaths
MONTREAL (The Blaze/AP) — Canada’s immigration minister says new Canadians will have to remove any face-coverings, such as the Islamic niqab or burqa, while they take the oath of citizenship. The controversial ban on these religious garments will begin immediately.
Immigration Minister Jason Kenney said Monday he‘s received complaints from lawmakers and citizenship judges who say it’s difficult to ensure that individuals whose faces are covered are actually reciting the oath.
Chinese Neighborhood Tries to Ban Veils & Arab Clothing
BEIJING (The Blaze/AP) — Burqa and Islamic garb bans are apparently all the rage these days. On Monday, the Blaze reported that Canadians will have to remove any face-coverings, such as the Islamic niqab or burqa, while they take the oath of citizenship. France, of course, has already implemented a more sweeping veil ban.
Now, a city district in heavily Muslim western China is joining in by purportedly trying to tamp down religious fervor by prohibiting people from wearing veils, traditional Arab dress or growing long beards. A regional spokeswoman said that she was unaware of the campaign and added that it sounds unrealistic. Still, there’s evidence that it is alive and well in the region.

"The Constitution is dead....the gradual transition toward an Orwellian police state"
Many in America still believe that the Constitution is the supreme law of the land and that politicians, both Republican and Democrat alike, still hold that view and ensure that any and all legislation passed does not violate it. However, in today’s America, the Constitution is effectively a null and void document, nothing more than a symbol politicians pay lip service to.
The destruction of the Constitution began soon after 9/11 when the Patriot Act was pushed through Congress. In the heat of the moment it seemed as if the legislation was meant to protect us from terrorism, however it was later revealed that certain provisions blatantly violated the First, Fourth, and Sixth Amendments. [1] Interestingly enough, however, this didn’t stop the Senate from to extending the Patriot Act earlier this year [2]. In doing this, the government revealed just how much they respect the Constitution.

"Supplication....the type of prayer for our times"
David Wilkerson Today
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 9, 2011
THE SPIRIT OF SUPPLICATIONS
by David Wilkerson
[May 19, 1931 - April 27, 2011]
The word supplication (see Zechariah 12:10) is never used in the Bible except
to denote a cry or prayer that is vocalized. In other words, it is not private
or meditative. Supplication has to do with the voice!
The Hebrew word for supplication signifies “an olive branch wrapped with
wool, or some kind of cloth, waved by a supplicant seeking peace or
surrender.” These were called “branches of supplication.” Simply put,
they were flags that signified a cry of total, unconditional surrender.
Picture a battle-weary soldier, ragged and worn, tired and overwhelmed, stuck
in a foxhole of self-will. He is all alone, weary and haggard, and has come to
the end of himself. He breaks a branch off a tree and ties his white undershirt
to it, lifts it, and crawls out of his foxhole, crying, “I surrender—I give
up!”
That is supplication! It says, “I surrender! I can’t fight this battle
anymore. I’m lost and despairing.”
Supplication is not just calling on God to do what you want. It is not begging
and pleading with Him to assist you in your plans. On the contrary, it is a
total giving up of your will and your way!
For centuries Christians have called on God while full of self-will, begging
and crying, “O God, send me here, send me there, give me this, give me
that.” But in the last days the Holy Spirit is going to fall with great power
to produce a sense of spiritual bankruptcy. We will wake up to the fact that
even with all our money, brains, programs, ministries, and plans, we have not
even touched this world. The truth is, the church has lost ground and become
weak and pitiful.
There must be surrender! Our cries must be accompanied by a willingness to give
up everything in our life that is unlike Jesus Christ.
Daniel’s prayer demonstrates what supplication is all about: “Now
therefore, our God, hear the prayer of Your servant, and his supplications, and
for the Lord’s sake cause Your face to shine on Your sanctuary, which is
desolate. O my God, incline Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our
desolations, and the city which is called by Your name; for we do not present
our supplications before You because of our righteous deeds, but because of
Your great mercies” (Daniel 9:17-18).
"Hal Lindsey Report 12.9.11"
December 9th, 2011
This week on 'The Hal Lindsey Report'
Do you remember how I've often told you that the march toward the rise of the Antichrist will mostly be slow, but inexorable? Remember, too, how I've said that each new development that paves the way in the end times scenario will seem imminently logical, rational, even necessary at the moment? In other words, conditions on the ground will make the decisions taken almost irresistible. A recent example of this is the economic chaos currently enveloping our world. As nation after nation faces fiscal collapse, the calls for a centralized system to control the chaos are growing. For many -- even some of the smartest among us -- a single world authority to control the interlocked global economy seems to be the only solution. Now, the ancient prophets didn't specify exactly why otherwise sensible and intelligent people would accept the total authority of a single man in the last days, they just said that they would. Well, now we can begin to clearly see how that could happen. And when it does, it will be thought to be totally logical, rational, even necessary.
Another example of this inexorable move toward the control of the populace that will be necessary to implement a one-world government occurred right here in the United States just last week. When all is said and done, it may not stand as law, but just the fact that it happened is important.
The U.S. Senate last week passed S.1867 by a vote of 93-7. That bill, known as The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012, authorizes the budget authority of the Defense Department for 2012. Whether or not you agree with the fiscal make-up or future implications of that budget, here's the critical part. At the last moment, an amendment, drafted in secret by Senators Carl Levin and John McCain, was added to the bill. That amendment authorizes the use of the US military to arrest and detain people -- including American citizens -- suspected of terrorist activities. Here's where it gets alarming. For the first time, it authorizes the use of US armed forces for domestic law enforcement within the United States! Further, it allows the military to hold detainees in military facilities for indefinite periods, without charges, and without due process.
It's possible that the reasoning followed this line: One of the greatest weapons that Islamic terrorists -- especially homegrown or newly radicalized ones -- use against the United States is America's tradition of domestic liberty and freedom of movement and association. Now before you fist pump and yell, "Atta boy! Arrest those terrorists wherever you find them!", consider this: Who determines who's a "terrorist?" In this amendment, apparently the White House gets to make that call.
Uh-oh. If you take just a quick look at the Department of Homeland Security's list of potential terrorists, you'll find Christian extremists, Jewish extremists, anti-immigration extremists, anti-abortion extremists, tax resisters, members of the alternative media, gun owners, former members of the military, and people who stockpile gold or silver. I don't think the "Tea Party" is listed, but it someday might be. Just this week in England, for instance, the government designated some members of the "Occupy London" movement as domestic terrorists.
Hopefully, the media exposure and public outcry will get this provision removed from the final bill, but it nonetheless illustrates how easily these kinds of repressive measures can be implemented. It must have seemed "logical, rational, even necessary" since 93 of our 100 senators voted in favor of it.
The Middle East seems to be headed for war. Here's a brief look at recent developments: The latest statements by the leaders of Israel, Syria, Iran, and Hezbollah suggest that both sides are not just poised for war in the next few weeks, it's a forgone conclusion. Both Israel and Syria are conducting intensive war games exercises. Israel's air force is also conducting long-range training missions with NATO forces based in Italy.
The United States has moved an aircraft carrier and strike force into the Mediterranean opposite Syria. Russia responded by airlifting 72 of its lethal ship-killer missiles to Syria and dispatched its only aircraft carrier and support group to lie off the Syrian coast. The US then withdrew its carrier from the danger zone, but has apparently moved another carrier group into position off the coast of Iran.
Several international newspapers are reporting that Saudi Arabia is so concerned about the progress of Iran's nuclear weapons program that it has secretly agreed to allow Israel's air force to overfly its territory in a strike on Iran. In fact, observers say that the Saudis have actually practiced "standing down" their air defense system.
Analysts report that the United States also seems to be stepping up its expansion of military ties with the Persian Gulf states that oppose Iran.
I don't believe that what we're seeing take shape now will become the predicted "Gog-Magog" war. This means that whatever action Israel and others may take against Iran will still leave it a viable nation. The Bible says that Iran will later join a military confederacy with Russia against Israel. Also, Ezekiel says that at the time of the Gog-Magog war, Israel will be living in peace and security without feeling the need for "bars nor gates." Obviously, that does not describe Israel's situation today -- or any other day since its founding in 1948.
It's possible that if Israel strikes Iran and scores a military victory, it will experience the same post-victory response that the United States experienced after the Gulf War in 1991. Though most of the Arab world hated and feared Saddam Hussein -- and cheered when we defeated him -- the ease with which we accomplished the victory inspired both fear and jealousy. Some of those who sided with us then are our adversaries now. And since Israel already has so few friends and allies in the world, if it "defeats" Iran and suffers the same post-victory alienation, it will probably become totally isolated from the world. And that will make it an even more compelling target for its enemies -- just as the ancient prophets foretold.

Morning Bell: Whitewashing History, Obama Style
If U.S. history is a painting on a giant canvas, President Barack Obama’s speech this week in Osawatomie, Kansas, is a thick coat of whitewash layered all over it, and the failure of the last three years lies underneath. The President’s pretense is that, no, it’s not Obamanomics that has caused persistent unemployment, stunted growth and record deficits–it’s supply side economics!
Talk about audacity.

The Osawatomie Speech: A Defining Moment In History
I am not a fan of Barack Obama, but I have not criticized him as harshly as many other writers do. I have a different view of him. I see him as a rather run of the mill Progressive/Liberal who firmly believes his ideology and acts somewhat consistently on those ideas. Rather than pillory him personally, my approach has been to criticize the philosophy of which he is a product. In my mind, it’s all about ideas. I detest his ideas because I believe they are anti-intellectual and they don’t work.
There are many like Mr. Obama out there. His admirers perceive themselves as being the “downtrodden”, envious of the accomplishments and wealth of those whose abilities they cannot match. I get that: if you can’t achieve it, take it from those who can. Even those limousine liberals who have wealth and accomplishment perceive themselves as either being guilty of their wealth or come from backgrounds where these ideas are passed along. Mr. Obama is no different than any other politician: he seeks power and admiration and the ability to impose his ideas on America.

Rush Limbaugh: Obama publicly 'outed' himself
PALM BEACH, Fla. – Radio giant Rush Limbaugh says Barack Obama has "outed" himself as a "dumb," anti-American socialist and perhaps Marxist after the president delivered a speech suggesting the American way of life has "never worked."
"After the three years, the cat's out of the bag," Limbaugh said this afternoon."After three years, everybody now knows why I wanted you to fail. Everybody that heard that speech now knows that you said America as founded has never worked. You have outed yourself, Barack, if I may call you that. You've come out. Maybe you'll be on the cover of the next Advocate (a homosexual magazine) because you just outed yourself, sir. You have nothing but contempt for this country."

Morning Bell: The Last Incarnation of Barack Obama
If there was any doubt where President Barack Obama’s ideological heart lies, yesterday he let it be known loud and clear in a wide-ranging speech in Osawatomie, Kansas. President Obama is at his core a dyed-in-the-wool progressive who sees the federal government as the answer to all of America’s problems. And he is charging full steam ahead on this far-left course toward Election Day 2012, despite the total failure of his big-government policies and an American people who have flatly rejected the message he is trying to sell.

"Senate Defense Bill Repeals Military Law Against Sodomy, Sex With Animals'
Recently passed Senate legislation would make sodomy and sex with animals legal under military law, ending long-standing prohibitions and triggering cries of perversion from conservative groups.
The bill, which the Senate passed 93-7 last week, would repeal Article 125 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, which states that any person who engages in "unnatural carnal copulation with another person of the same or opposite sex or with an animal is guilty of sodomy." Those found guilty of sodomy would be subject to court-martial.

'Super cycle' ahead for recession-weary lumber sector: analyst"
One of North America’s largest exporter of logs warns that a timber supply “shock” is fast approaching that will lead to significantly higher prices for logs and lumber as early as 2014.
“There will be some real tightness in softwood going forward and who gets it will be based on ability to pay,” Reid Carter, managing partner of Brookfield Timberlands, told an online seminar Wednesday. Carter was speaking on the future of log exports to China, but branched out into the longer-term timber supply crisis he sees in North America.

"European banks need extra bns of euros to survive"
European banks need an extra 114.7bn euros (£97.7bn) to survive the eurozone debt crisis, the region's banking authority has said.
The European Banking Authority said the overall shortfall, including an emergency capital buffer, is 13.1bn euros (£11.1bn) for German banks and 7.3bn euros (£6.2bn) for French banks.Meanwhile in Spain, the shortfall comes to 26.2bn euros (£22.3bn) and 15.4bn euros (£13.1bn) for those in Italy.
The banks now need to raise that capital and have until January 20 to present their plans - and until mid-June to complete them.
It comes as the European Central Bank said it would offer cheaper loans for banks struggling amid the financial crisis.

"Worldwide Recession/Depression of 2012"
By Jeff Harding, on December 6th, 2011
In case you haven’t noticed, the rest of the world continues to slow down and the negative data is accelerating. The big powerhouses of the world, the eurozone including Germany, Japan, and China are leading this trend and there is no reason to believe that the U.S. will not follow.
I’ve been writing about this theme frequently lately because, while we are seeing some positive numbers here in the U.S., we are also seeing signs of weakness starting to show up, and since we live in a world of international trade, the world’s woes will hit us.
The first thing to note about this phenomenon is that the central banks of the world, including the Fed, have been doing all they can to support their economies with plentiful money. According to a recent Bloomberg article, “Central banks across five continents are undertaking the broadest reduction in borrowing costs since 2009 to avert a global economic slump stemming from Europe’s sovereign-debt turmoil.”

"MARY'S LETTER TO HER SCIENCE TEACHER"
The letter said, "Dear Mr. Hanlan, I must speak to you about your daughter, Mary. She wrote me an insulting and inexcusable letter criticizing my teaching. We cannot allow such behavior from our students. You must come to see me immediately, or serious measures will be taken against your daughter. Please call me as soon as possible for an appointment."
Josh looked up from the letter at his daughter, who had a worried, but angry look on her face. Josh knew that look. His daughter was so bright, but also willful when she thought she was right.
"What's this about, honey? What letter is Miss Johnson talking about."
"Oh Daddy, I was so bored with her science class, I could just scream. Daddy, I want to learn science. I love it so much. You know that, don't you?"
"Of course sweetheart."
"Well, Miss Johnson does the silliest, stupidest things in class. For a science project, she had the whole class pick up bird seed with the bottom of wet spoons, to show us how birds use their tongues. She makes us do projects like that all the time, and they're all just as silly."

The Senate voted yes on the National Defense Authorization Act.
This is a critical step over the ‘stuck on stupid’ line to the traitorous and treasonous line by our Senate this week. They voted for our Military to detain American citizens as long as they want to, without charges, representation or trial……just because they are suspected of being a terrorist. Americans could be gathered up and placed at GITMO for a ‘mystery’ terrorist reason decided by the military front and directed by Obama or any other power hungry President. It is all kosher and approved by the Senate and President now. Naturally, Obama is threatening a veto, of course that hits the airwaves to soften this traitorous ruling against the American people.

Revelation 13, a Metaphor for Today
The Bible speaks of a government in the last days that “makes war with the Lamb” (Rev. 13). This totalitarian state demands worship of its image – “the beast.” This government mandates a “mark” on the forehead or back of the hand in order to buy or sell. This government slays many martyrs. “Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man…” The mark represents the worship of man.
Throughout the book of Revelation, there is a distinction between those who “worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark” and those who “had gotten victory over the beast and his image, and his mark.” The former are judged and condemned to the lake of fire; the latter are received into heaven’s glory to rule and to reign with Christ forever.

While he has an "R" behind his name, Haslam is no conservative. This is the story of how he intends to raise taxes on all Americans. The title of this article is "TEA," for Taxed Enough Already, the same acronym used by the Tea Parties.
First let's look at this phony right winger who calls himself a Christian Conservative. Haslam was born in Knoxville in 1958 and is the son of Jim Haslam, the founder of Pilot Corporation, the parent company of the convenience store and travel center chain, Pilot Flying J. He ran for Mayor of Knoxville partly because of a conversation he had with fellow RINO Bob Corker who was then mayor of Chattanooga, TN. Corker is now the junior RINO senator of Tennessee and he along with our Senior RINO Senator, Lamar Alexander and our Governor, Bill Haslam, is a big proponent of UN Agenda 21/Sustainable Development.
"NO WONDER AMERICA'S FOUNDERS DISTRUSTED STANDING ARMIES"

It is well documented that many of America's Founding Fathers had a very real and deep-seated distrust of standing armies--and for good reason. They had just fought a costly and bloody war for independence, which had been largely predicated upon the propensities for the abuse and misuse of individual liberties by a pervasive and powerful standing army (belonging to Great Britain) amongst them. Listen to Thomas Jefferson: "I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies." Note that Jefferson identified both banking institutions and standing armies as being "dangerous to our liberties." James Madison said, "A standing army is one of the greatest mischief that can possibly happen." Elbridge Gerry (Vice President under James Madison) called standing armies "the bane of liberty."
"Conspiracy theory confirmed: Bankers do want to rule the world"
One of the longest running conspiracy theories in the global mindset is that the banking cartels would like nothing more than to control the economic and social domains of nations through a centralized authority, which would then be run by a select few.
On November 24th, this theory may have finally come out of the darkness and into the light as an executive member of the European Central Bank (ECB) called for nations in the Euro Zone to be willing to give up economic sovereignty to the EMU over fiscal, structural, and economic polices.

NETANYAHU COMING TO NEW YORK TO ADDRESS U.N. NEXT WEEK: Will confront Palestinian statehood bid and Ahmadinejad
Senior aides to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin originally told me the PM was not going to come to the opening session of the United Nations General Assembly this year. But things have changed. Tensions between Israel and the Palestinians, Iran and Turkey are intensifying and Israel is becoming increasingly isolated. Haaretz and Ynet News are now reporting that Netanyahu is coming to New York and will deliver a major address before the U.N. General Assembly next week.

Celebrating Our Constitution - while we still can!!!!
On Saturday, September 17, our country celebrates its 224th birthday. Constitution Day commemorates the drafting of the U.S. Constitution and the 39 statesmen who signed it that day in 1787. This year, since the anniversary falls on a Saturday, the holiday is observed on Friday, September 16.
John Adams said the Constitution was the result of "the greatest single effort of national deliberation that the world has ever seen." His praise was not exaggerated; by this document the Founding Fathers framed a republican form of government unique in history, restrained within strictly defined lawful bounds. It set up limited powers for the legislative, executive and judicial branches. Because its authors knew governments tend toward corruption, they added a Bill of Rights — the original 10 amendments to the Constitution — stipulating all the things the Federal government is not allowed to do.
Sadly, many Americans today undervalue the worth of our founding documents and the safeguards of freedom they provide. A Pew Poll taken in May found a minority of 45 percent of Americans believe the Supreme Court should base its rulings on the original intent of the U.S. Constitution. This number is made up largely of Republicans, Tea Party members, and older Americans. Fifty percent say the Court should interpret the document based on "current-day understanding." Democrats and younger Americans tend to hold this opinion.

Census Numbers: The Trend Toward Government Healthcare Coverage Continues
In its yearly survey of health insurance coverage, the U.S. Census Bureau published figures that underscore the trend toward greater dependence on government for coverage.
The percentage of Americans on government health programs continues to grow, while employer-based coverage continues to decline. According to the latest Census report, 31 percent of the population received coverage through the government in 2010 compared to 23 percent in 1987. In contrast, 64 percent of the population had private coverage in 2010, compared to 75.5 percent in 1987. Employer-based coverage declined from 62.1 percent in 1987 to 55.3 percent in 2010.

ACLU Suing School District for Ten Commandments Display
The ACLU is targeting a Virginia school district for displaying the Ten Commandments in one of its high schools. “The American Civil Liberties Union of Virginia filed the lawsuit [September 13th] against Giles County School Board in U.S. District Court in Roanoke on behalf of an unidentified Narrows High School student and the student’s parent,” reported the Washington Post. “The lawsuit says the display unconstitutionally promotes a specific religious faith and serves no secular purpose.”
The ACLU is demanding that the Ten Commandments be removed from school walls and that the court impose a ban on any further biblical displays. According to CBN News, “School board members voted in June to re-hang the biblical texts as part of a display that included other U.S. historical documents. More than 50 students had walked out of class in protest over the commandments removal earlier in the year.”
